Driving from Pune
Roughly 95 km and two to two and a half hours. Take the Pune-Bengaluru highway south towards Satara and turn off for Wai near Surur. The highway portion is quick; the last stretch into the valley is slower and more scenic.
Traffic leaving Pune on a Friday evening can add an hour. If you can get out before four, do - the final approach is unlit and easier in daylight.
Driving from Mumbai
About 240 km and five hours. Take the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, continue past Pune on the Bengaluru highway towards Satara, then turn off for Wai. Most people break the drive at Lonavala or on the expressway food plaza.
By train and bus
The nearest railway station is Satara, about 35 km away, with connections from Pune and Mumbai. Wai is also well served by state transport buses from Pune, Satara and Mahabaleshwar.
If you are arriving without a car, tell us in advance - the villa is a few kilometres outside town on a farm road, and local transport for the last leg is easier to arrange ahead than on arrival.
Arriving
Check-in is 1:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out can often be arranged if the villa is free either side of your booking, but ask when you reserve rather than on the day.
There is private parking inside the gated property, so you can bring more than one car. On-site staff are available 24x7, so a late arrival is not a problem as long as we know it is coming.
