The villa, room by room

The glass room is the reason most guests find us in the first place - it is the room named in our Booking.com listing, and the one people photograph. It is a fully enclosed room with a glass sunroof, so you can lie back and watch the sky change without leaving your bed. On clear winter nights between November and February you can pick out stars from inside; during the monsoon it is the best seat in the house for watching rain run across the glass.

It works as a third sleeping space, and it is also where most groups end up sitting late into the night. If the glass room is the reason you are booking, say so when you enquire so we can make sure it is prepared for your group.

Two furnished bedrooms with comfortable bedding and blackout curtains, which matter more than they sound - the light comes up early over the valley here. Bathrooms have hot water with a geyser, and we provide towels, bedsheets, soap and toilet paper. Hangers, bed linen, extra pillows and blankets are all stocked.

Water supply runs 24x7. There is on-site staff available around the clock, so if something is missing at eleven at night, someone is there.

The landscaped lawn is the centre of most stays. There is an outdoor BBQ and dining setup, a bonfire spot, and a music setup for the evening. The kids' play area sits beside the lawn, which means parents can eat without keeping one eye on a wandering child.

The farm itself is working, not decorative. Ducks, hens, cocks, rabbits, cats and goats live on the property - more than fifty animals in total. For families with young children this is usually the part they remember, and it is the thing that most distinguishes a stay here from a conventional villa rental.

A cook is available on request and prepares home-style Maharashtrian food. Breakfast and lunch can be arranged as per our menu card - tell us your preferences and any dietary requirements when you book, since ingredients come from Wai town and are bought ahead of your arrival rather than kept in stock.

There is a tea and coffee bar in the villa, stocked for the late conversations that tend to happen here.

Early check-in and late check-out can usually be arranged if the villa is free the night before or after, but it is never guaranteed - ask when you book rather than on the day.
